On 29 December 2023, in the magnificent Kölner Philharmonie — one of Germany’s most prestigious and acoustically celebrated concert halls — the Philharmonia Frankfurt presented an enchanting programme titled Baroque Fireworks. The evening featured masterworks by Georg Friedrich Händel and Antonio Vivaldi, including The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, The Four Seasons, and the exuberant Fireworks Music.

A defining highlight of the concert was the extraordinary trumpet artistry of Vladislav Lavrik. His performances in the baroque repertoire, particularly in Händel’s festive trumpet passages, showcased breathtaking technical command, dazzling precision, and a brilliant sense of stylistic flair. Lavrik’s virtuosic presence brought vivid color and expressive intensity to the performance, earning enthusiastic recognition from an engaged audience in the hall.

The Kölner Philharmonie, renowned for its superb acoustics and architectural elegance, provided the perfect setting for this vivid baroque celebration. As one of Cologne’s leading cultural landmarks, the venue amplified the radiant sound world of the baroque masters and highlighted the exceptional musicality of the performers.

Conducted by Juri Gilbo and featuring solo violinist Artiom Shishkov, the programme blended virtuosic solo moments with rich orchestral textures, making the evening a memorable and exhilarating experience for all in attendance.
