The music was composed by Alexander Rosenblatt, whose style combines elements of classical music with jazz harmonies. The symphonic score is written for a large orchestra with an extensive percussion section, which plays a significant role in the overall sound palette. The work is conceived as a suite consisting of ten movements, each reflecting a different scene or character from the story. The music is varied in character and clearly defined in its imagery.
The recording was made in 2013 at the Moscow Sound Recording Studio (Dom Zvukozapisi). The project was realized with the support of Boeing and the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation.
